About this part

5Q0907273B TPMS Control Unit 433 MHz for VW Golf 7 Passat B8 Tiguan Arteon Octavia 3 Superb

Genuine Volkswagen Group tyre pressure monitoring control unit for the MQB platform, option code PR-7K3 — 433 MHz. This is the “high line” version that displays the individual pressure of all four wheels in the driver information system, not just a warning light. Ideal for replacing a failed module or for retrofitting a full direct TPMS.

Fitting & coding notes

After fitting, the module must be coded to the vehicle (ODIS / VCDS). Wheel sensor IDs are learned through the adaptation routine and confirmed on a short drive. For retrofit installations a wiring harness and the 3G0907538 bracket are also required.

What the TPMS control unit actually does

This module is the receiver for the four wheel sensors. Each sensor broadcasts its pressure and temperature on a short radio burst; the control unit decides which wheel each burst came from, compares the values against the placard pressures and lights the warning in the cluster when one drops. When the receiver fails, the car loses that comparison entirely — the warning stays on, or the system reports that no sensors can be found, even with four healthy sensors fitted.

433 MHz or 315 MHz — check before ordering

The same looking housing is built for two radio bands: 433 MHz for Europe, Asia and most other markets, and 315 MHz for North America. They are not interchangeable, and the label on your old module is the only reliable way to tell them apart. This listing is the 433 MHz version used on MQB cars.

Coding and sensor pairing

Fit the module, code it to the vehicle with a diagnostic tool, then learn the sensor IDs. Some cars accept the IDs automatically after a short drive above 25 km/h; others need each sensor triggered with a TPMS tool. If one wheel refuses to learn, swap that sensor for a known-good one before replacing the control unit again.
